I'll give you a for instance: if you're turning in a press kit, and it's in a binder, you should duplicate the cover for both sides -- not just one.
My professional advice to you: Your business card is an advertisement of YOU. You are your own logo. If you think of it in this perspective, it would be wise to pay the extra money to have your name and one essential contact info. printed on the back. But -- DON'T OVERDO IT! Make the back simple, plain. Basic contact like an email and your name only.
Out of an entire pile of business cards, it would certainly make finding you a lot easier. And more memorable.
