When you see those words in a store window, what do you think? Are you optimistic that service and selection will be good? Or do you wonder how bad it was before and are skeptical they have brought the ship around? OK there is one other option, that you don?t notice signs like this and think I?m weird for even bringing it up.
We recently assumed the management of five new properties, about 35 tenants altogether. These properties are officially ?Under New Management? and in property management there are always high expectations of the new Property Manager. Tenants bring to us the issues they couldn?t get traction on before, and Owners expect our ?fresh eyes? to give them new input on sometimes old problems.
For us, the ?New Management? the first year is the start of a repeating cycle one year long. Review, Act, Project, and then repeat it next year. Thinking of our job as a constant cycle keeps us focused on being proactive, and we hope puts us and the owner in position to solve problems, not just react to them. If we can?t solve it this year, it will hit the radar to be solved next year.
